Generational Knowledge Producing the Very Best for You.

Friends coming together to accomplish a goal none alone would even consider; a multi-generational family simply keeping on plowing and planting year after year after year; faith in God being central in all concerns; each a joyously beautiful thing. We at Daniel-Jackson Farms strive to continue the story…

In 1973 Mack and Joan Ledbetter started what was then known as Ledbetter’s Feed Mill located just north of Ranburne, AL. After a decade of serving the area, they decided to sell the business to Joan’s sister, Deborah, and her husband Gene Daniel. Thus, the name was changed to Daniel’s Feed Mill.

In 1993, Sammy Jackson, nephew of Mack and Joan as well as Gene and Deborah, came on board as a business partner. Twenty years later, the name was changed to Daniel-Jackson Feed Mill as it continues to operate this day. Will Daniel took over his father’s interest in 2017.

Today, two cousins run the operation. What started as a rather small feed store servicing local farmers has grown into a multi-faceted operation. Daniel-Jackson Feed Mill offers feed for a large variety of animals. Additionally, seed, fertilizer, animal health supplies, fencing materials, water and feed troughs, are some of the products we also offer. In 1995 a mixer was added allowing for customized feed production. Based on the needs of the animals, we are able to provide a recipe of ingredients. Some customers travel well over a hundred miles to have us create their special blend. Through the years, the Feed Mill has become a diverse operation offering fertilizer blending, fertilizer spreading, and pesticide spray truck services.

Along with the growth of the Feed Mill, the business became a multi-generational cattle farm. After many years of hard work, the cattle operation has developed some of the best genetics found within the cattle industry. Our herd has not only grown in quantity, but even more so in quality. Recent data has shown that on average over 70% of the cattle we raise are rated prime with the remaining rated choice by the USDA. The national average is 7.4% prime. With such high-quality beef on the hoof, the idea of building a meat processing facility was tossed around.

In 2021, a brand-new plant with a 120-carcass capacity aging cooler began operation. The facility is located right on the farm providing an absolute “farm-to table” experience. Stephen Ledbetter, son of Mack and Joan, and an alumni of Auburn University, partnered with Sammy and Will to run Daniel-Jackson Meats. We are well prepared for taking on the next challenge of providing beef and other meats straight from our farm to your table.

With the culture of faith, family and friends being at the core of what we do, we at Daniel–Jackson Farms are ready to expand and serve our list of friends–You–as we continue “Farming the Land Through Faith and Family.”
